How to heal

What I have been learning…

How to become healthy & happy again, it sounds like a feat, well because it is. But it is possible. If you feel like you have gone down a rabbit hole this year, never to emerge, do not worry, you are not alone. You can be lifted by the strength and courage that is you and see brighter days ahead again.

Putting this into practice:

You are what you think you are – is probably the most insightful thing that has been bestowed upon me. This year I have grown an appreciation for the power of your own thoughts and how inextricably linked the mind & body connection truly is. The less I think negatively, the more positive things are that come my way. The less I fret about things that are not in my control, the more I see my mind and body become healthier. Worrying all the time and holding bad stress is very debilitating. Some people say there is such a thing as good stress, that’s the stress that keeps us productive. I think the less useless things that weigh on your thoughts the better. Hence why the minimalism movement is becoming so popular.

Try your best to fix things within your control, I always say – at least this leaves me with a piece of mind, a sense of calm. A feeling that I did my best to resolve (help the situation) and some things will work themselves out on their own, at their own pace. Every path unfolds as it is meant to.

I believe we can heal ourselves from being treated poorly, mental anguish, bodily pain, loss/suffering of a loved one and events that may lead to a lack of security, safety and well-being. We can also mend our own broken heart (in most cases) with the power of our own thoughts. You become what you think about. Joy lies within you and the more you tune into it, the more you will heal your wounds whether superficial or internal. Well-being is within reach.

It is human nature to fight the things we do not want in our life – think about it, that is negative energy going towards something that is already negative. Instead take things you do not want and add your positive energy to them.

Do not add energy to what you do not want your life to be about. Energy flows, where you allow it to flow. Focus on the good you want to come to you, feeling healthy, happiness and living in abundance. Talk about what you want. Walk the talk! Understand some things you cannot control or change and all you can do is be your best in the moment, to give the space that allows it to flourish (or a situation to end how it is meant to). Leave yourself with a sense of closure knowing you did what you could, the universe has its own plan.

Focus on what it is you want to heal – in the most positive way. Design what you want your destiny to look like. Create the conditions whether that be surrounding yourself with more positive people, getting out in nature or putting other less important (than your health) things on the back burner. Put yourself in a state of mind that will allow you to get there by envisioning it (your destiny – what you what to achieve) clearly. What does being healed look like to you? Write it down. Getting better is gradual. Moving forward and healing for you may look like letting go of something and recovering from loss or an injury. It could also be attracting something new to your life. Open the door for greater days ahead.

Right now, I am doing something (writing) I love, I am not thinking about the troubles in my life, I am solely focused on taking my energy and releasing it to a better place today. Wishing you all the best on your healing journey. These things take time but with practice can come great stride and lots of good.

Busy Summer

Hey there,

It’s been one busy summer so far! Hope all is well in your world.

I just finished a 30-day program, started hunting again for recycled vintage goods since Covid restrictions have started to lighten up and been meeting new people that want to start an Arbonne journey with me. I joined as I love the healthy lifestyle and supporting vegan, sustainable brands where possible. I also love that it delivers to my door/mailbox ๐Ÿ™‚ super convenient.

I will be posting more frequently here coming up however feel free to follow me on my other pages/groups, based on your interest:

election results 2020

Dear __________ (I am not sure what I should use as a salutation these days),

Take note of the amount of times I politically correct myself tonight. I ventured off into the sunset this evening to go pick-up some vintage coffee carafes. Don’t worry I used proper Covid-19/Corona Virus/Pandemic protocols.

I was very excited to bring them home shine them up, decorate them and fill them with coffee as Christmas gifts for some special people in my life. Yes, Christmas that holiday that I call Christmas instead of a holiday or another word to describe Christmas. I should also mention when I say, “shine them up” I will sanitize them for fear that as people are reading this there is concern for the well-being of those I want to give the coffee carafes to. When I say “people” I do not mean you precisely, I just mean to whomever feels, as they are reading this, that they (the carafes) should be sanitized.

While on my way, I decided to stop and get something at a grocer. I used to love grocery shopping, it was rather therapeutic for me. Thinking about what I was gonna eat, how I was gonna eat it etc. Now it has become an episode of how not to get yelled at, look at someone or walk the wrong way. I had a kerfuffle with a lady and bounced shortly thereafter forgetting most of the things I went there for in the first place.

I proceeded to my destination mask on, gloves on and grabbed my box of goodies. Before driving away, I stopped for a minute and had some deep thoughts, one in particular. Can I got back to the days of the vintage coffee carafe please?

Back to a time where things were more simple. I am afraid we have created so much structure for ourselves that all logic has gone out the window. Everything makes us tick! The stress over these election results and health matters are one thing but the stress we induce on one another, on a daily basis, is everything. Life was always complicated but have we managed to over complicate it? Our foundation feels broken.

Will we feel relief when the virus (or whatever you call it) goes away or becomes normal (whatever that means)? Will we be happy when the election results come in, or will be just become more angry? You decide, I decide, we all decide how we react.

Just a thought or two to percolate and warm up to.

~J Wishing you peace, love & happiness in this time of confusion. This piece was not intended to offend but to share my everyday life.

Samhain and halloween – DON’T FORGET THE TRADITION

Vision. As we move forward in life we can’t forget where we have come from. History is important. Understanding our roots and past is important. I see Halloween as a huge back to our roots day. Regardless of the times we are in, don’t lose your spirit or forget pay your respects to the tradition that came before us. Some also believe this is a day to say goodbye to those you have lost, showing your respect to the dead.

Samhain is a pagan religious festival originating from an ancient Celtic spiritual tradition. In modern times, Samhain (a Gaelic word pronounced โ€œsow-winโ€) is usually celebrated from October 31 to November 1 to welcome in the harvest and usher in โ€œthe dark half of the year.โ€ Celebrants believe that the barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, allowing more interaction between humans and denizens of the Otherworld.

October 31 became known as All Hallows Eve, or Halloween, and contained much of the traditional pagan practices before being adopted in 19th-century America through Irish immigrants bringing their traditions across the ocean.

I hope you enjoy this day.

Please note some details have been left out in between history of Samhain and Halloween. Read more here from the source of the historic information (history.com)
