It’s Friday and I am raring to go – to a sale, shop or show.
I wanted to send a quick reminder to check out the wheels at the Ottawa Custom & Classic Car Autorama taking place tomorrow and Sunday. This is an indoor show (at the EY Centre) so if it rains you are all good.
If cars aren’t your thing vroom vroom to somewhere different…
If you are looking to hit up a solid sale in a short period of time (less driving around) head out east to the breathtaking Blackburn Hamlet Annual Community Garage Sale this Saturday. This year over 50 streets are taking part in the event!
The garage sale is May 3rd from 9:00AM – 3:30PM. The rain date is Sunday, May 4th at the same exact time. I have gone to this sale in the past and it was totally worth it. Anything and everything at your fingertips.
What I hold dear is the giveaways (free stuff!!!) at the curb after 4:00PM the same day. For a map of Blackburn Hamlet see the map on the area community association page or visit Google Maps.
P.S If you haven’t got your fill of vintage and antiques for the weekend visit Auction Fever to see all the auction listings close to Ottawa – there are a ton being held this Saturday.
Maybe you will pick up an object that makes you really think back to its first use and history.
“Wave after wave has brought to our shores beautiful and mysterious treasures from unknown worlds: figurines, animals, fetishes, masks, ceremonial or useful objects. They are called Primitive for want of a better name…What could never have been written is there, all the dreams and anguishes of man. The hunger for food and sex and security, the terrors of night and death, the thirst for life and the hope for survival.” – Dominique deMenil, Tribal Arts Spring 1998
Happy Hunting!
